OfAge isn't in the app stores yet. This page covers the ofage.app website and the rules the app is built on. We'll publish the full app privacy policy here before launch.
This website
- The site has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking cookies.
- Vercel hosts the site and Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Like any host, they may log your IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the pages.
- If you email us to join the beta, we use your address to reply and to tell you when OfAge launches. Ask and we'll remove you.
Patron data in the OfAge app
Venues use OfAge to read information from their patrons' IDs. We build these rules into the product:
- Venue records only. We use patron data for ID checks and the venue's own records. We never sell it or use it for marketing.
- Partial license numbers. The scan log keeps a protected fingerprint and the last four digits. A full number appears only inside an incident report, encrypted.
- Addresses expire. OfAge deletes an address after 72 hours unless the venue attaches it to an incident report.
- State retention rules. Venues in states with stricter limits on scanned ID data store less, set up for them automatically.
- Role-based access. Owners, managers and staff see what their role allows. Our servers enforce this, not only the app.
- A record nobody can rewrite. Venue staff can't edit or delete a scan. Corrections go in as new entries.
- Kept apart. Crash reports and product analytics never receive patron data, and OfAge shares no database with any other app.
